Resident Care and Staffing

Providing 24-hour quality care and support

Baptcare aged care homes are managed by registered nurses, and offer nursing led care to cater for the broad range of changing, sometimes complex health needs of our residents.

  • Registered nurses on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • Aged care home managers are registered nurses
  • Nursing oversight of all care practices and decisions

Our services include support that a person who is frail may need to maintain their independence at the highest level they can experience. We provide assistance from the most basic supervision right through to the full provision of expert intensive aged care for every aspect of daily living.

Emotional and Spiritual Support

Baptcare offers trained and supervised on-site Chaplains and volunteer Pastoral Visitors to all of our clients and their families. Through calm and attentive listening and conversation we offer a highly flexible and personalised way to explore what is on their hearts and minds. We take special care in the first few months to support families with the transition to aged care accommodation. It can be a difficult time, marking a change of life and sometimes unexpected. Our support is available to residents both with a religious background and the many who do not. It can include:

  • Assistance with preparation for change
  • Someone to talk to or just be with in times of grief, transition or uncertainty
  • A calm, compassionate presence
  • Worship services offered during the week

We understand that mealtime plays an important part in residents’ health and day-to-day routine. Our chefs work with dieticians and nutritionists to create tasty, healthy menus that support wellbeing. We can work with individuals to cater for specific cultural or health related dietary requirements.


Residents connect with and enjoy time with staff and other residents through our social and therapeutic activity program. We offer residents a broad range of social programs as well as music, art and entertainment activities and regular bus outings.


As part of providing a warm and homely environment to residents, visitors are welcome at any time of the day. We invite family and friends to be part of activities and mealtimes, and use our shared spaces, gardens and facilities to spend time with their loved one.

Residential aged care

Am I or my loved one ready and eligible for residential aged care?

You may find that you or your loved one needs more help with day-to-day tasks or health care. If you are living on your own and not able to get out and about as easily as you used to, you may also want some extra company. Or you may need help because of an illness, a disability, or an emergency. For some people, the best way to receive help and support can be by living in an aged care home.

Staff at aged care homes can help residents with day-to-day tasks (such as cleaning, cooking, laundry); personal care (such as dressing, grooming, going to the toilet); or 24-hour nursing care (such as wound care, catheter care).

More about waiting lists and availability

Waiting lists vary for each Baptcare aged care home.  A number of factors are considered in regards to prioritising new residents, with urgent need the highest priority. Other factors include a prospective resident’s readiness to enter an aged care home and the capacity of the staff to provide the kind of care needed to the prospective resident. Baptcare encourage you to contact our aged care homes to discuss your specific situation.

Once an application to one of our aged care homes is made, staff from the aged care home will contact you. Prospective residents and their families are also welcome to ask for an update on their application.

Can I have a tour of the aged care home I’m interested in?

Yes, we welcome potential residents and families to visit most of our aged care homes. We invite you to contact the Baptcare residential aged care home you’re interested in to organise a tour.
